From Pain to Awareness: What I Learned Walking Barefoot

Personally, Saguaro’s barefoot shoes have been amazing for me.
I’ve always had a supinated gait—which meant that any regular sneaker with a thicker sole would wear out in no time. They would tear along the sides almost immediately.

“Normal” shoes never worked for me.
And I put normal in quotes, because what should really be normal is walking barefoot—with a flat sole and minimalist design.

My experience with Saguaro barefoot shoes has been so positive that I can’t stop recommending them.
After so many years of trying solutions without success, my opinion about Saguaro is clear: they’re comfortable, durable, and they’ve transformed the way I walk.

Toenails, Pain, and Surgeries I No Longer Need

One of my biggest problems was that my big toenails kept digging painfully into the corners of my toes.
Since switching to wide‑toe shoes like Saguaro, that has improved dramatically.

The nail is still curved, but it no longer digs in. No pain, no irritation!
I’ve saved myself from surgery simply by changing my footwear.

CrossFit, Twists, and a More Aligned Body

I only own two pairs of Saguaro shoes, but I don’t wear anything else anymore.
Since I started using them:

  • My knees hurt less, even when doing CrossFit.

  • My shoes no longer wear out quickly from my supinated gait.

  • And most incredible of all: I think my gait has actually corrected itself.

Now my feet feel more balanced, tensions have eased, and I no longer feel that imbalance in my knees.

I can feel the ground—and that changes everything.

Wearing barefoot shoes is like having eyes on your feet.

I feel every stone, every crack, every twig.
And thanks to that, I never twist my ankle anymore.

I used to be clumsy, tripping all the time. Now? Zero.
I thought it was me, but no—it was the shoes.

When I first started, I even got sore muscles in my feet.
I never thought that was possible… but it is!
My feet are now stronger and more agile.

What’s Next: More Barefoot, More Freedom

My current shoes are more for summer, so I’m already planning to buy a pair of barefoot boots—and after that, another pair for training.

I can’t imagine how good it must feel to be barefoot and warm in winter.
I only wish I had started sooner.
